Primephonic is a digital music start-up that has been dubbed by the media as ‘the Spotify of classical music’. With the best 100% classical music streaming service we seek to reinvent the digital classical music experience and reignite a global passion for the genre. Classical music lovers are currently heavily underserved in the digital space, we have the ambition to change this by offering the world’s most extensive classical music catalogue, with the highest audio quality and the best search in the industry. At the same time, we also pay out classical artists in a fairer way. Primephonic launched its streaming service (iOS, Android and web) in the United States, United Kingdom and The Netherlands this Fall. Our global roll out is planned for 2019. Based in Amsterdam, with a commercial office in New York City, our rapidly growing team is home to over 20 classical music lovers of ten different nationalities.

Overview

As a QA engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our user-facing products, as well as the APIs powering them. At Primephonic, we’re building a product for hardcore audiophiles, so when it comes to quality, we need someone with an unforgiving eye for detail.

Just like our users, you are someone with a keen eye for detail. You know what quality looks (and sounds!) like, and are committed to excellence. As our users are hardcore music lovers, any slight defect in the app or the audio quality could immediately translate into a bad user experience or a bad review, which makes your role even more crucial. Finding issues is of course just half of the story – you should have amazing communication skills to be able to articulate the technical issues to the team, and help them diagnose and debug it.

Even better if you have:

• Experience with test automation

• Experience testing APIs

• Some programming / scripting knowledge in Javascript, Python, Bash or other

What will you do?

• Test the entire product line (Android, iOS, Web)
  
• Perform regression testing
• Maintain and improve our existing automated test suites
• Work alongside other engineers to bring new features live
